Two dead and several injured in a mass accident on the M5 motorway near Inárcs.
A tragic accident occurred this morning on the M5 motorway, heading towards Budapest, near Inárcs, involving several vehicles. According to the Pest County Police, two people lost their lives, another was seriously injured, and another sustained minor injuries.
How did the accident happen?
According to police spokesperson Anita Váraljai, the tragedy began when an SUV, for reasons still unclear, left the road and plunged into a ditch. A minibus pulled over onto the hard shoulder to assist the vehicle. However, this minibus was then violently struck by a car with Romanian license plates.

Consequences of the accident:
Two people died at the scene of the accident. One of the victims was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, while the other suffered minor injuries. Emergency services arrived quickly to treat the injured and transport them to the hospital.
Traffic situation on the M5:
According to Útinform’s traffic report, at kilometer marker 38, only the inner lane is open, causing major traffic jams. Kilometers of congestion have formed, and motorists should expect long delays.

Driver alert:
Authorities are urging motorists to exercise extra caution near the accident site, maintain a safe following distance, and, if possible, choose alternative routes. The road closure could remain in effect for some time, until rescue operations and the accident reconstruction are complete.
