A terrible accident occurred on one of the routes in the Masovian Voivodeship.

Just after 4 p.m., two passenger cars collided.

Sadly, a 62-year-old woman died in the tragedy. Multiple emergency services responded to the scene.

The circumstances of the incident are literally hair-raising. Police have released the details.

The accident occurred on Monday, August 19, after 4:00 p.m., near kilometer 113 of the DK-53 in the town of Łodziska. Two passenger cars collided, resulting in one death and two injuries.

“At this time, we have information about three people injured, including one fatality. One of the passengers is being extricated from the vehicle using hydraulic tools. The road is currently blocked, and a police patrol is on site,” Adrian Stupski from the Ostrołęka State Fire Service told Polish Radio RDC. 

The driver and passenger of the Audi were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police are investigating the circumstances of the accident.
Immediately following the accident, the Ostrołęka-Kadzidło section of the road was blocked in both directions. Police and three fire crews were on the scene.

Several police patrols, including those from the Ostrołęka Road Traffic Department, are on site, investigating the circumstances of the accident. Traffic disruptions may continue until late in the evening,” the Ostrołęka police announced on social media.

Since the beginning of the summer holidays, the police have been compiling statistics on fatal accidents on Polish roads. A total of 306 people have died.
