A 72-year-old woman who had previously exited her car onto the emergency lane was killed in an accident on the S8 route.

Unfortunately, despite receiving medical assistance, she died in hospital as a result of very serious injuries.

Her death has shaken the local community, and numerous farewell posts have appeared on the Internet, including from public figures.

Tragedy on the S8. A respected doctor has died.
The tragedy occurred on June 19th on the S8 expressway in Opacz-Kolonia. A 72-year-old woman stopped her car on the emergency lane and exited the vehicle, only to be struck by an oncoming delivery truck. Emergency services, including the Air Ambulance Service, were immediately called to the scene and transported the injured woman to the hospital.

• “We received the call at 3:50 p.m. It concerned a hit-and-run on the S8 expressway, near the Opacz-Kolonia junction. It was on Nowa Street, a few hundred meters past the junction, heading towards Warsaw. A woman driving a car stopped in the emergency lane, then got out of the vehicle and was hit by a van,” said Fire Officer Michał Składanowski, spokesman for the Pruszków Fire Department, to TVN24.

“The woman was revived. Three firefighting units from the Pruszków district, a medical rescue team, and the Air Ambulance were on the scene. The woman was transported to the hospital by helicopter,” Składanowski added.

Despite doctors’ efforts, the woman died in hospital as a result of her injuries.

victim’s identity was first reported by the website “Życie Żyrardowa.” Emilia Kotewska-Avramceva was a respected physician, neurologist, and founder and owner of the NZOZ Neuromedyka clinic, which she ran for over 20 years. News of her death was confirmed on social media by, among others, her friend, Jolanta Borowiec from Polsat Cafe.

In her post, she emphasized that the doctor was an extremely committed and effective person, who was involved in, among other things, helping burnt children from Macedonia and was in the process of establishing a clinic specializing in skin regrowth for burn victims.

• Above all, she loved her daughter, son, and grandchildren. She would lift her wide-brimmed hat over her head to protect her from the world’s waste. She offered support, hope, and comfort. She was like a ray of sunshine on a cold day. She didn’t impose herself, didn’t expect gratitude, she simply was. We had so many plans together… She was a beautiful person—not through grand words, but through a huge heart. Another Angel has left Earth…”
