A truck overturned on the highway, spilling thousands of scratch cards onto the asphalt.

On August 13, a truck overturned on the A13 motorway between Caen and Rouen, spilling a pile of scratch cards onto the road.

However, none of the tickets were valid because they had not yet been registered with the Française des Jeux (French National Lottery). The driver escaped unharmed.

The driver who lost control of his truck on the A13 motorway between Caen and Rouen on Wednesday morning was quite frightened. He escaped the overturned vehicle unharmed, but his cargo did not survive the impact.

The sheer number of scratch cards strewn across the road created a scene worthy of a comedy sketch. In retrospect, considering the lack of collateral damage and the driver’s condition, it’s impossible not to laugh.

As reported by the Paris-Normandie newspaper, traffic police officers quickly arrived at the scene to collect the scattered tickets. However, there was no point in taking any chances and searching for any that might have remained: the tickets were invalid because they were not registered with the French National Lottery, for which the shipment was intended. The tickets were worthless. The truck was removed from the highway. Although the tickets turned out to be worthless pieces of paper, the vehicle was stopped at an undisclosed location. The driver was taken to hospital for a checkup, which confirmed he was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
