Diana Spencer, the former wife of Prince Charles , commonly known as Lady Di, died on the night of August 30-31, 1997, in a car accident. The tragedy occurred in the tunnel under the Pont de l’Alma bridge in Paris.
Conspiracy theories have been abounding ever since. A new twist emerged on Thursday, August 18, 2022. As reported by Gala , according to the documentary series “The Diana Investigations ,” currently airing in the United States, the princess allegedly predicted her death two years earlier.
According to the document, in 1995, shortly before the divorce was finalized in August 1996, she reportedly confided in her lawyer, Victor Mischon, that attempts to get rid of her would be made… the following year.
“This particular stage of my life is the most dangerous. My husband is planning an ‘accident’ in my car, brake failure, and a serious head injury to pave the way for his marriage to Tiggy ,” reads the letter, which was reportedly sent to her lawyer. As a reminder, Tiggy Legge-Bourke was the Prince of Wales’s personal assistant.
Complex investigation, heavy secrets
Lady Diana’s letter, whose story is told in the fourth season of “The Crown ,” was reportedly given to Sir Paul Confon, the Metropolitan Police Commissioner, after her death, according to Gala magazine. However, it was only added to the inquest file in 2004 by his successor, John Stevens.
Based on the investigation, the police chief stated that he was “100% certain that there was no conspiracy to murder Princess Diana .” According to the investigation, Henri Paul, the Ritz’s security director and the Mercedes’ driver, had a blood alcohol content of 1.81 grams. Other findings included the driver taking antidepressants and driving at speeds in excess of 100 km/h. Although her lawyer dismissed Lady Di’s fears , calling her “paranoid ,” the princess died at the Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital in Paris from a ruptured lung caused by a car accident on the night of August 30-31, 1997.
