You may have heard of hip dimples, or the hollows in the middle of the hips.
They can sometimes be a source of insecurity for women. Here’s why they appear and how to improve their appearance.
Because of beauty standards (which, by the way, are completely stupid), women tend to obsess over certain areas of their bodies.
If it’s not cellulite—which, for the record, is a “made-up disease” dating back to the 1920s—then it’s hip dimples, or hollows in the middle of the hips. But, once again, this physical phenomenon is completely normal and natural.
These may be more noticeable in some people depending on the distance between the pelvis and the femur. In fact, the greater the distance between the bones, the more noticeable the hip dimples become. As you can see, this is genetic.
This means that regardless of body type, all women can have them. To stop feeling self-conscious, here’s what you need to know about hip dimples.
Hip Dips: Are there ways to fill in hip bulges?
It’s no wonder that, since hip bulges are genetic, they’re difficult to correct. Our bodies are what they are. However, “some exercises, like glute bridges and lunges, reduce their appearance, but you can’t completely eliminate them,” says Jessica Mazzucco, founder of Glute Recruit, in an interview with Byrdie magazine. On the other hand, she advises avoiding exercises that can cause hip bulges. For example, avoiding overloading the quadriceps and hip flexors is recommended.
The Train Sweat Eat team discusses aesthetic techniques with Sissy: “Some women would like this area to disappear, but there’s no other solution to fill it other than surgery, which we don’t recommend, and posing (how to pose for photos).” There are fillers, implants, and even fat grafting procedures that can “fill” hip dimples. While the decision to undergo surgery is yours, remember that your hip dimples are a part of you.
Toe raises: why it’s not a solvable problem?
You can hide them by wearing loose jeans and blouses, or try to correct them with exercise, but concave hips are not a problem that needs to be fixed. As mentioned earlier, from a biological perspective, it’s the shape of your hips. The best solution is to love your body. And stop following Instagram accounts that call them an unsightly part of your body. Love yourself!
