A truck overturns on the highway, scattering thousands of scratch cards on the asphalt.

On August 13, a truck overturned on the A13 motorway between Caen and Rouen, spilling a load of scratch cards onto the road.

However, none of them were valid because they had not yet been registered with the Française des Jeux (French National Lottery). The driver escaped unharmed.

The driver who lost control of his truck on the A13 between Caen and Rouen on Wednesday morning was more frightened than anything else. He escaped the overturned vehicle unharmed, but his cargo did not survive the impact.

The abundance of scratch cards scattered along the road created a scene worthy of a comedy sketch. In retrospect, considering the lack of collateral damage and the driver’s uninjured, it’s not unreasonable to laugh.

As reported by the
Paris-Normandie newspaper , officers
from the department’s road safety department quickly arrived at the scene to collect
the scattered tickets.
However, there was no point in taking any chances by trying to recover any they might have missed: the tickets
were invalid because they were not registered with the
Française des Jeux, the French national lottery for which the shipment was intended.

The tickets were worthless.
The truck was removed from the highway. Although the tickets turned out to be nothing more than worthless scraps of paper, the vehicle was seized at an undisclosed location. The driver was taken to the hospital for examination, which confirmed he was uninjured and not under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
