Rapper Koba LaD, accused and placed in pre-trial detention after a fatal accident he caused,

who was under the influence of drugs at the time of the incident, took to Instagram on Saturday, September 14, 2024, to express his grief over the death of his friend Will.

1/10 Koba LaD was involved in a fatal accident

On Wednesday, September 11, 2024, Le Parisien revealed that rapper Koba LaD was involved in a fatal accident that occurred a few hours earlier near Créteil.

2/10 Drug use

According to a Parisian newspaper, the singer took drugs before driving. There were two passengers in the car at the time of the accident.

3/10 A passenger in the car died

The rear-seat passenger sustained only minor injuries. Unfortunately, the front-seat passenger died.

4/10 Koba LaD was placed in pre-trial detention

Following this tragedy, Koba LaD was charged with “aggravated murder” and “involuntary bodily harm” and subsequently placed in pre-trial detention on Saturday, September 14, 2024.

5/10 Koba LaD spoke on his Instagram account

Koba LaD, who had remained silent since the beginning of this matter, finally broke his silence that same day.  “I am devastated by the tragic loss of my friend Will, and since Tuesday evening, my thoughts have been primarily with his family, his wife, and his children, with whom I share this immense sadness and grief.”

“I will be with his family until the end of my days. Rest in peace, my brother Will,  ” he wrote on his Instagram story.

7/10 A clash of extreme violence

The driver of the truck that Koba LaD hit escaped with minor injuries. The singer’s partner, Wejdene, was driving a German luxury limousine at the time of the collision. According to preliminary investigation findings, the rapper was driving  at full speed  when he hit the truck with his car.

8/10 Another similar case

As a reminder, Koba LaD was convicted of involvement in another road accident in Marseille in 2020. That same year, he received a three-month suspended prison sentence.

9/10 140 hours of community service

The sentence also included 140 hours of community service. The rapper fled immediately after the incident. However, he eventually turned himself in to the police three days later.

10/10 Koba LaD is still presumed innocent

The singer was subsequently sentenced to a four-month driver’s license suspension following  a plea bargain hearing  . As a reminder, Koba LaD remains innocent of the charges pending the conclusion of the case.
