Durham native Beth Barbee stole the spotlight during Wheel of Fortune’s Disney Princess Week.

Facing off against Twyla Arbuckle

of California and Bryan Babler of Wisconsin, Barbee built momentum early and delivered a stunning Bonus Round win — but not without some unexpected drama.

Arbuckle, a naval officer, scored the first toss-up, while Barbee answered the second, tying things up. Barbee surged ahead with puzzle wins including

“Snow White Chocolate,” scoring the Disney Princess wedge and a vacation prize. She kept the lead by solving the Prize Puzzle and others back-to-back.
