I caught the babysitter coming out of the shower while my husband was at home… The next day, I turned on the surveillance camera

One evening, coming home earlier than usual, I stumbled upon the most unexpected scene: the babysitter was coming out of the bathroom, her hair still dripping wet.
Surprised, I immediately asked her what had happened.
A little embarrassed, she told me one of my kids had spilled milk on her, and she had no choice but to wash up.

All of this seemed frankly inappropriate to me. So I asked her why she had made that decision, when she was supposed to be watching the children.
She replied that the little ones were napping and she thought it wouldn’t be a problem.
But something inside me wasn’t convinced.

“Sorry, but I don’t think this is the time or place to take a shower,” I replied, a little annoyed.
She, 23 years old, tried to justify herself by saying it was “not a big deal” and she didn’t see the problem.

That’s when my husband appeared in the living room. And my discomfort turned into suspicion.
He wasn’t supposed to be home at that hour.

And things got even stranger when he defended the babysitter.

“You’re making a big deal out of nothing, it’s just a shower,” he said calmly.

I was speechless. Why was he trying so hard to downplay the situation? Part of me started imagining the worst… An affair? Impossible to say, but my intuition told me to dig deeper.

The next day, I brought out an old surveillance camera we used when the kids were babies. I installed it discreetly in the living room before leaving the house.

An hour later, I checked the video remotely… And I saw him. My husband. Sneaking in quietly through the front door. Yet, I had seen him leave that very morning, dressed for work. What was he doing at home?

Disturbed, I contacted my employer to say I wasn’t feeling well and had to come home. When I arrived, I found him in the kitchen, preparing food.

He looked at me, surprised:

— You’re already home?

I told him there was a computer problem at the office and everyone was sent home.

He stared at me for a few seconds, then finally said:

— I have to tell you something.

And then, he revealed a truth I didn’t expect at all.

He explained that he had lost his job a week earlier due to layoffs at his company. He didn’t have the strength to tell me, so every morning, he pretended to go to work, but in reality, he stayed home to look for a new job online and help with the kids a bit.

“Yesterday, it’s true, our daughter spilled milk on the babysitter. Since I was there, I suggested she change and take a shower. I watched the kids during that time.”
