I found these small, slippery lumps inside the egg and thought they were insect eggs, but then I learned the horrible truth

It was unpleasant even to look at, let alone eat. My husband suggested we go straight to the store to demand a refund, but I wanted to check first if anyone else had experienced this.

We went online, read reviews and advice. And here’s what we found out — these were calcium deposits, basically made of the same material as the eggshell.

Sometimes they form inside the egg because of the chicken’s diet or a problem in their body. They look scary, but are completely harmless as long as there’s no infection.

To be honest, that didn’t make me feel much better — I still didn’t want to eat it. But at least we understood that it wasn’t parasites or some deadly threat.

From now on, we’ll check the eggs more carefully before buying them and will probably switch brands. Even if it’s harmless, discoveries like this definitely kill your appetite.
