A man was returning home from a long day at work when he noticed an old, worn-out suitcase left on the side of the road.

It looked like it had been thrown away—something no one wanted anymore. He walked past it, but stopped suddenly after a few steps.

He heard a sound coming from inside the suitcase.

At first he thought he was imagining things. But the sound came again. A faint, almost inaudible groan or cry. The man turned quickly.

With his heart pounding, he walked over, leaned down, and carefully unzipped the suitcase.

Inside was a cowering, frightened little creature. A dirty white puppy, probably a poodle, with a dead look in his eyes that could bring tears to your eyes.

The man was shocked. Who could do something like that to a defenseless animal?

He gently picked up the puppy — he didn’t put up any resistance. Back home, he gave him some water, some food, and wrapped him in a blanket.

He was later taken to a local shelter. Staff were shocked but relieved that the poodle was alive. Overall, he was in good condition, although severely dehydrated and emaciated.

The police launched an investigation: the suitcase was abandoned near a housing estate, but there were no cameras nearby. The perpetrator was not identified, and the case was classified as animal cruelty.
