A young, beautiful widow came to the cemetery to visit her husband, but before leaving she did something unexpected. One day someone asked her why she was doing that.
Every week this woman would come to her dead husband’s grave. She would carefully arrange the flowers, polish the tombstone until it shined, and stand in silence, lost in deep thought. At such moments, it seemed to her that the whole world ceased to exist for her.
An elderly visitor to the cemetery, who often came to visit his loved ones, noticed something strange: despite his concern, the widow always left standing facing the grave.
Eventually curiosity got the better of her and one day he approached her as she was heading out the door.
“I’m sorry to bother you,” he began respectfully. “I’ve been watching you for some time now. Your dedication to your husband’s memory is admirable… But one thing puzzles me: why do you leave, staring at the grave the whole time?”
Her answer shocked him. See the rest in the comments.

The woman smiled slightly and looked into his eyes.
“You know, my husband always joked that my curves were so beautiful that they could even make a dead person come alive…”
She paused and added with a mischievous smile:

“So I’d rather not take the risk and not test it in practice.”
The man froze, grasping the meaning of these words, then burst into hearty laughter. The widow winked at him and calmly walked away, as always—without looking back.
