The young woman, together with her team, was conducting another patrol through the savannah, collecting data on the movements of large predators. The day was coming to an end, the sun was sinking toward the horizon, and everything seemed calm.
She was checking the equipment, taking notes, and barely looking around. Her experience told her that tigers didn’t come to this area. At least, that’s what everyone thought.
When the car stopped for a moment, she heard a light scraping sound against the bodywork. At first she thought it was a branch, but then something flickered in the mirror. Before she could turn, a huge paw landed directly on the door. Her breath caught.
The enormous tiger was so close that she could feel its warm breath on her face. The animal stared straight into her eyes — attentively, almost studying her. She sat completely still, afraid to provoke the predator with even the slightest movement.
Suddenly the tiger jolted, lifted its head, and let out a loud roar. The roar was so powerful that tears welled up in her eyes. She thought it was the end, that the animal would tear her apart alive. Her arms and legs went numb, her breathing faltered, and she just sat there with clenched fists, waiting for the worst.

But suddenly the tiger did something that terrified everyone
But something unexpected happened. The tiger suddenly stepped back from the car, bent down to the ground, and picked something up in its teeth. The woman’s heart pounded even harder as it approached again.
But instead of attacking, it gently placed a tiny tiger cub on the seat beside her — tiny, helpless, with closed eyes, as if saying: “Well, go on, help.”
She immediately realized the cub wasn’t breathing. Fear gave way to adrenaline. The woman lifted the cub, placed it on her palms, and began giving it chest compressions, just as she had been trained to do in wildlife courses.

After a few seconds, the cub suddenly gasped, let out a faint squeak, and opened its eyes.
The tigress stretched her neck forward, carefully picked it back up, and disappeared into the tall grass as calmly as she had appeared, without looking back.
And the woman sat there for a long time, trying to process what had just happened. She was trembling, her heart still pounding in her throat, but one thing she knew for sure: she would never forget this encounter.
