Demi Moore Reveals Weekly Visits to Ex-Husband Bruce Willis Amid His Dementia Battle

Demi Moore has opened up about her close bond with ex-husband Bruce Willis and how she continues to visit him regularly following his diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia (FTD). The Die Hard actor, now 69, retired from acting in 2022 after being diagnosed with aphasia, a condition that affects speech and comprehension. His family later revealed that his health had worsened, leading to the heartbreaking diagnosis of FTD.

In a recent appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, Moore, 61, discussed her relationship with Willis, whom she was married to from 1987 to 2000. She shared that she visits Willis “every week” and treasures the time spent with him and their blended family. Moore spoke fondly of their enduring connection, despite their divorce more than two decades ago.

Moore’s Reflections on Willis’s Condition

During the interview, Drew Barrymore reminisced about Willis’s cameo in the 2003 movie Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle, in which both actresses starred. Barrymore, who has known Willis since his early days as a bartender at Cafe Central, inquired about his current condition.

Moore responded with a heartfelt update, saying, “Given the givens, he’s in a stable place.” She then reflected on how she helps their three daughters, Rumer, 36, Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 30, cope with their father’s health struggles.

“What I say to my kids is you meet them where they’re at,” Moore explained. “You don’t hold on to who they were or what you want them to be, but who they are in this moment. And from that, there is such beauty and joy and loving and sweetness.”

Maintaining a Close Relationship

Despite their divorce, Moore and Willis have remained close over the years. Willis remarried in 2009 to Emma Heming Willis, with whom he shares two daughters, Mabel, 12, and Evelyn, 10. Moore maintains a positive relationship with Emma and has been a part of many family milestones, including attending Willis and Emma’s wedding in 2009 and their 10th wedding anniversary celebration in 2019.

Speaking about her visits to Willis, Moore said, “When I’m in LA, I go over every week, and I really treasure the time that we all share.” Her comments underscored the deep bond they continue to have, united by their love for their children and their shared history.

The Impact of Sharing Willis’s Diagnosis

The Willis family has been open about Bruce’s health journey, and Moore has joined his current wife, Emma, and their children in providing updates on social media. Their transparency has garnered widespread support from fans and helped raise awareness about frontotemporal dementia. In May, the couple’s eldest daughter, Rumer, spoke to Fox News Digital about the impact of sharing their experience publicly.

“I think, for me, through this experience, what’s been so incredible is my dad is so beloved,” Rumer shared. “And that’s been so evident in the transparency with which we’ve been sharing. If there’s any way sharing our experience brings hope or comfort to someone else experiencing that, then to me, that’s everything.”

A Strong Family Unit

The close-knit Willis family, including Demi Moore, continues to rally around Bruce as he battles dementia. While he remains largely out of the public eye, the family frequently shares updates, expressing gratitude for the outpouring of love and support they’ve received. Moore’s weekly visits and her heartfelt reflections on the situation underscore the strength of their bond and the importance of embracing the present moment, even in the face of difficult circumstances.

As the family continues to navigate this journey, they are an inspiring example of how love, support, and togetherness can help provide strength through challenging times.
