Caitlyn – 48 hours of a real nightmare
The dog, who was named Caitlyn, was known to the neighbors as a friendly stray dog, often seen in the area. Unfortunately, someone deliberately captured her and brutally taped her mouth, causing her great suffering.

When the veterinarians finally removed the tape, her mouth was already severely swollen, and her tongue – stuck between her teeth – showed signs of necrosis caused by lack of blood flow.

The doctors were concerned because the injuries could lead to serious complications. Fortunately, the ASPCA did not remain indifferent and offered a $1,000 reward for information leading to the capture of the perpetrator.

He faces up to 5 years in prison and a $5,000 fine for animal cruelty. Unfortunately, this was not an isolated incident – ​​a few months earlier, another dog was abandoned in a locked carrier on the edge of a field.

The Charleston community responded immediately. On June 2, Tuesday, North Charleston police arrested a 41-year-old man on suspicion of this cruel act. Although Caitlyn’s condition remains serious, veterinarians are optimistic that with intensive care her life may be saved.

Caitlyn’s story is a painful reminder of the responsibility that pet owners bear. Dogs, cats and other pets are completely dependent on humans – abandoning or harming them is not only cruel, but also deeply inhumane.
