Comedian Tony Knight, 54, Dies From A Falling Tree Branch

Both the French newspaper Le Tarn Libre and the GoFundMe website started by Tony Knight’s partner’s sister report that the comedian and “Dog Listener” from Britain passed away in an accident at the age of 54.

On June 7, Knight and other attendees at the Rock & Cars Festival in Lavaur, France, suffered injuries from two sizable tree branches. According to reports, four additional people were hurt but made it out alive.

According to the fundraiser, Knight “was only 54 and having the time of his life. He was fit, healthy, happy, and had everything going for him. He was charismatic, funny, passionate, and so very loved by [his partner] Hayley, his family, and his friends all over the world.” He was just a few days into his annual vacation to France.

Donations of $8,501 had been made as of July 5 to cover Knight’s burial expenses, hospital expenses, and estate settlement costs. According to the author, Knight’s status as “an Englishman with Australian residency living in France” has complicated the matter.
