During what seemed like an ordinary walk through the forest, her eyes caught sight of something unusual – a small black creature lying in the grass.
It was almost completely hidden in shadow and seemed to be part of the earth. At first glance, it looked like an ordinary lizard. But something was wrong: it barely moved, looked emaciated, and was clearly injured.
She felt sorry for the creature and didn’t want to leave it to die, so she carefully picked it up and carried it to the nearest vet. Then something unexpected happened. When the vet saw the creature, he recoiled and paled.

“Whatever you do, don’t touch her again!” was all he managed to say before placing the lizard in an airtight container.
It turned out that this was no ordinary lizard. The creature belonged to an extremely rare species on the brink of extinction.
Only a handful remained and they were kept under strict protection as part of a closed program to help rebuild the population.
Somehow, the lizard escaped from a nearby breeding facility. It had already been reported missing.
Thanks to this discovery, experts were able to return the creature to safety and begin treatment.

What began as a simple walk ended with the rescue of a one-of-a-kind creature. Although the story quickly reached zoologists, they requested that it not be shared widely—too much public attention could endanger such a rare species.
