The man was just about to board the airplane when a little girl ran up to him in tears: “Excuse me, please help me… my mom is sleeping and won’t wake up” 😢✈️

Alex was already standing at the boarding gate and looked at his watch once again. There were only a few minutes left before departure. The flight would last two hours, and in three hours he had the most important job interview of his life. He had worked hard to reach this day. For months he had been sending resumes, going through selection stages, and waiting for replies. And finally a large company had invited him for a personal meeting.

Perhaps, for the first time in many years, his life was about to get better.

Alex took a step forward, preparing to join the boarding line. At that moment, he suddenly heard a thin, frightened voice beside him.

— Excuse me… sir… please help me…

He turned around. In front of him stood a little girl about six years old. She was wearing a pink T-shirt and a denim dress. She was breathing heavily, as if she had been running for a long time.

— Please help… my mom is sleeping and won’t wake up…

Alex froze for a second. He looked at his watch again. Only a few minutes remained before boarding closed.

If he left now, the plane would depart without him. And with it might go his only chance to get the job he had dreamed about.

But the girl kept looking at him with big frightened eyes and pointed with a trembling hand toward the waiting area.

— There… my mom is there…

Alex sighed and quickly turned around.

— Come on, show me.

They almost ran across the terminal. The girl led him to one of the benches near the window. A woman about thirty years old was lying there. She was pale and motionless.

Alex bent over her.

He gently touched her wrist, checked her pulse, and looked at her pupils. The pulse was weak, but it was there. The woman had simply fainted.

— Don’t worry, she’s alive, — he said softly to the girl. — Everything will be okay now.

He called the airport service and requested medical help.

While the ambulance was on the way, Alex sat beside the woman, lightly splashing water from a bottle on her face and trying to bring her back to consciousness. The girl sat next to him, tightly holding his hand.

When the medics arrived and took the woman away on a stretcher, the board already showed “boarding closed.” The plane had departed. Alex remained standing in the middle of the airport, feeling only emptiness and exhaustion.

A few minutes later, a message arrived on his phone from the landlord.

“If the rent is not paid within three days, I will evict you.”

Alex sank heavily onto the bench. Three days. He had only his last money left. There was only one hour left before the interview, but now he had no way to reach the other city.

He stared at the phone screen for a long time, trying to understand what to do next. And at that exact moment, another message arrived.

Alex opened it and, after reading the text, froze in shock. 😱😲 The continuation of the story can be found in the first comment 👇👇

“The interview has been moved to tomorrow. Our director had to urgently go to the hospital — his daughter has been admitted to the hospital.”

Alex reread the message several times.

This was his last chance. He bought a new plane ticket, spending his last money.

The next day Alex walked into the company’s office. A huge modern building, a strict reception area, expensive furniture.

When the office door opened, he saw a man about sixty years old sitting behind a large desk. But beside him sat a woman. The same woman from the airport. She recognized him immediately.

Her eyes widened in surprise.

— Dad… it’s him… — she said quietly. — He’s the man who helped me yesterday at the airport.

For a few seconds, silence filled the office.

The director looked carefully at Alex.

— So you’re the one who saved my daughter?

Alex felt a little embarrassed.

— I just happened to be nearby…

The woman shook her head.

— If it hadn’t been for him, no one knows how it would have ended.

The man slowly stood up from behind the desk, walked up to Alex, and extended his hand.

— You know, — he said calmly, — I have always believed that a person’s character is more important than any resume. I think our company needs people like you.

That day Alex left the office already with a new position.
